a dry, sunny, beautiful 76 degrees, I pulled out a cigar from the bottom of Desk Top IV, holding nicely at 66%. It was an Oliva "O" Churchill, 6 7/8 x 48.

A bit lumpy on the construction, but nice nonetheless, nice roll, veiny dark brown wrapper, sitting around for who knows how long. And it had a most unique cloth band, sealed around the cigar by a tiny piece of what looked like scotch tape, a band that's definitely a keeper.

This was a bold, smoky, rich tasting cigar that could have stood another six to twelve months of age, but was still a satisfying stick. Mostly char and burnt sugar, with a lot of intermittent flint flavor, some calf leather and a bit of Black Forest cake. At times these flavors got a bit confused and just became wrapped up in the smoke and char, but was a good smoke all things considered.

I began this slow burning, relaxing cigar at 1609 hours and finished at 1820 hours.
