Why such the outragous mark-up on these cigars guys? You just perpetuate an already inflated reputation for the cigar. I must assume your selling them at those prices. Does that not give you some form of guilt to run them up like that? I really don't get it. They are a great cigar, but I would never spend that kind of money for them. They can be had at my local tobacconist in Albuquerque at MSRP. He won't let me take a whole box, but he will let me take 20 at a time. Your prices are double MSRP and then you charge shipping on top of that and limit to three cigars. As I state above your perpetuating a reputation for a cigar way above and beyond what the cigar can rise to. The Fuentes have not raised prices on the the Opus X since they have arrived on the market, yet advantage is taken of the low production and poor availability of the cigar to make huge profits for vendors. All one has to do is shop around a bit to find them at sell for reasonable prices. Then your buisness goes elsewhere. One begins to question if your marking one item up so drastically what are you doing to your other inventory. Before long your loyal customers begin shopping elsewhere because they can beat your deals so easily. You might want to give your marketing theories some serious thought, it might be bad for buisness to play your current game. Just some food for thought, hope you take it as intended.

Thanks for the feedback MNCOWBOY. I assure you we dont make much money selling the OpusX even at the price we are selling it for. We carry it becuase our customers look for it and I try to make them happy. I may only make a few dollars on those cigars but my hope is always that people will buy something else before checking out. If your local store has them at that price and regularly availabel then you have a real gem there. It is a double edged sword, people complain if you dont have them, and if you do have them people complain that they are too expensive. Personally I dont want to lose the business for not carrying them at all. Since I cant devote a lot of time shopping around and dont want to buy a few at a time from dozens of people, I pay a premium to get boxes in here to take care of my customers. I appreciate the post though as I hope this clears the air. I dont want people thinking I am price gouging. I assure you our Opus margins are very slim. We are not a direct OpusX account with Fuente. We buy on the second market.

o.k. Alex, I'll buy that. I get my hackles up every time I look at the prices of Opus X on your sight. Just rubs my wrong I guess. I wouldn't ussually even look because I know what I'm going to see, but I got an e-mail from you'all today stating they were in and I made the mistake of looking. Felt I had to comment. I'll try and keep the blinders on in the future.

I'll add my .02

Many times retailers do not Fuente accounts and have to buy their stock from a secondary source.

It happens often and the price is always higher.
I think this maybe the case here?
(I do not know for certain)
The Fuente's ask their retailers to sell Opus and not inflate the price to high - (some don't listen) but for the most part most do!
Then you find situations like this & people get upset.
(I am not pointing fingers - just saying)

I hope this add's the right info to the post from Alex?)

Thanks CC, you are right...

Like Alex said though, some customers want them so we get them, and we really don't make anything on selling them, but we still want to retain the customers who do buy them and hope that they will check out some of the other stuff we offer.

Believe me, I wish we had the ability to sell them at MSRP...then I could buy them a lot more... :D

Like I said, the feedback is always appreciated. Castle Crest hit the nail on the head. Most retialers who sell at MSRP sell only 2 cigars at time. It is hard finding boxes on the open market that are factory sealed. There are a couple of other lines we sell that I have to do this for.
