I believe I found s stix that was just attacked! I removed it from my humi and checked around and found no others with damage. Thats well the good news I guess. It was a Graycliff 99 which are you can't get anymore, thats the bad news. The damage all seems to be in the middle of the cigar, and I don't see any actual beetles. The cello on the stick has no holes in it like the chewed out. Should I be freeze all the sticks in that humi or just give it another good look. We had a couple of warm days and my temps did go up to just over 70 degs. Any advice would be great, I did do a search and found some good info but and not sure if I should do the freezeing thing. As always thanks in advance and if there was some info I left out please ask. Oh and if it would help I can put up a pick in the next day or so.

how many cigars are in that humidor?

you can watch it to see if anything pops up but man if it was me I would have to freeze them.

Beetles always seem to go for the very best cigars first - be warned.
Freezing done right will not hurt you cigars - :? Done RIGHT!!!!
Most freezers aren't cold enough, so make sure you at least have it set on the coldest setting!

true on both accounts!!! the freezer has to be at 0* or colder. (-10 would be ideal) freeze by putting the cigars into a zip-lock or other air tight container that you can get most of the air out of. put that copntainer in the freezer for 48+ hours. then move the package into the cooler. you want a slow warm up. if it is too quick they will split. after 24-36 hours in the cooler you can move them to your humidor. If you are worried about the humidor itself the same proscess can be done to the humidor. There is a good chance that you will have to re season the humidor after it comes out though. freezers suck up moisture quickly.

Well it is a 200 ct humi that is....well full. I am not sure I could fit the humidor in my freezer since it is a side by side. Well I leave town for three days in the AM and I am not comfortable putting themin the freezer while I am gone. So against my better judgement I am going to chance it since I don't think any escaped the stick I found. There was actually very little damage compared to the pics I have seen on the web. I plan on cutting the damaged stick apart when I get back and seeing what I find. That one is in the freezer since the night I found it. I appreciate all the help I always feel better when I talk to you guys for help. I will let you know what I find when I get back this weekend. Thanks again.

if you wanna protect the ones you have i would reccomend putting them in zip lock bags inside the humidor. ...even if its just while you are gone. this way if there is an infestation you can only lose 6 or so sticks and not the entire humidor.

Make sure your humidor is somewhere cool whil your gone!

& Never put a humidor in a freezer - You double bag your cigars (or Seal a Meal is good!)

I think cause you can damge the seal from the wood moving around. But I could be wrong.

Yes you can really damage the humidor IF he has been seasoned and moisture is in the wood. You would freezer the moisture in it and damage the wood.

Well I appreciate all the advice I did not get it though because I was out of town. Everything looks ok in the humi, I think I got to it early and they never made it to any other stix. When I cut open the bad one I will post my findings.
