a bourbon that isn't even in my Top 25 any more.

A tall, beautiful bottle, a distinguished name, but I don't drink bourbon and rye, or eat or drink anything for that matter for its beautiful packaging and distinguished name. And it's no wonder that this bourbon isn't in my Top 25 anymore, because it doesn't belong there.

Mind you, as with everything I say, these are MY opinions only. If you feel that a certain bourbon belongs in the top spot on your list, remember what I've said before, and that is, the BEST bourbon or cigar or anything in this world is the one YOU like best. And it's that simple. It doesn't matter what your wife, husband, favorite neighbor, best friend, favorite athlete, rap star likes to smoke, drink or eat the most in the world. If YOU don't like it, then who cares if your wife likes it? You going to smoke a cigar that you hate because your best friend says it's great? Go ahead, be my guest.

HEY BLOOF, YOU'RE GETTING AWAY FROM THE SUBJECT AND INTO ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR OVERLY EXPLANATORY, SELF SERVING MINI-RANTS AGAIN, YOU JERK!!! roared the 71,391 inebriated fans in Eagle Rare Stadium.

And THAT brings me to my point, which is my final opinion on Eagle Rare 10 year old single barrel 90 proof bourbon. Remember, this is the Eagle Rare 10 year old single barrel 90 proof bourbon in the tall, beautiful bottle, NOT the 10 year old 101 proof in the short, fat, sort of fire hydrant looking bottle, which is still in my Top 25.

The flavor profile on this bourbon is of sweet oak, honey, and earth, yes EARTH! I may like earth tones in my cigars, but it tastes weird in a bourbon, and not what I'm looking for. The overall flavor profile is also muddled in my opinion, not bold, complex or distinct. It's cheap for sure, but I didn't like the first bottle or two I had a while back, at least not that much, and now that I've tried about forty different bourbons, the rest of this bottle is going to another taster/friend and I'm not buying it any more.

Just MY opinion folks. No offense to the folks who make this fine stuff. You'll make your sales.

You failed to mention that slight pine needle like after taste. I tried it about a year ago, when I saw it on your list. It's OK, but nothing I'll go out of my way to find or drink.

Love that coat of arms, Herr Colonel. Did Carlito authorize that? Oh right, there's a guy here who uses Wile E. Coyote for his picture. Hope you guys have good lawyers, LOL!!!

Thanks for chiming in. Always good to see friends around here. Try as I might, I can't like this bourbon. All show and no go.
