I plan on smoking an aged Padron 64 tomorrow night and I would like suggestions on a bottle of red that would pair nicely with this stick. ANy ideas, or past experiences with a great red that would go with this?

Penfolds - Rawson's Retreat (shiraz/cabernet) AUSTRALIAN

Mouton Cadet - Bordeaux FRENCH

Baron Phillipe de Rothchild - Merlot FRENCH

All red's and some of my favorites.

Or domestics:

Ravenswood - Merlot or Cabernet

Rutherford Hill - Merlot

Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.

Just kidding. I will say Penfold's Bin 289. Hands down one of the best.

im not going in there if they are drinking merlot!!!

pinot noir. rich red but light enough that it wont over power any cigar. the vanilla in alot of pinot noirs will go well as well.

Don't know if you can find it in your area but Renwood makes a 2003 Old Vine Zinfandel which is less than 20 bucks and is great with a PAM.
It's from the Sierra Foothills of California and I enjoyed it with a Padron while camping up at Lake Berryessa not too long after starting at the Academy.

Funny thing about that Boone's Farm...I went to a supposed wine snob's house while up in San Francisco and I was poking around in his fridge as I usually do (I can't help myself), and I come across a bottle of peach flavored Boone's!! After spending the next 5 minutes laughing my A$$ off I proceeded to hide the Cuban cigar that I was going to give him and ended up giving him a cheap domestic

I saw an add for the Bin Wine that you mentioned, it sounded pretty good, I will have to try and find some, and let you know how it went.

Thanks Ryan, I am always on the lookout for good wine!

I would say you need a dark and full red to stand up to the cigar. I would go Shiraz, Zinfindel or Cab Sav. I would try anything Cab Sav from Alexander Valley 02 or older. Alexander Valley cabs tend to be more full bodied and big on flavour. A couple of my favorites are Geyser Peak, Dynamite, Frei Brothers, and Jordan. Jordan is my favorite.
