My wife and I visited a local apple orchard this weekend that has an inside shop with a large selection of wine, cheese, and preserves. We're heading back Sat. and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for dessert wines. Any good ice wines?

Thanks,
Chris

my brother had his wedding in the niagra area. part of the festivities included a winery tour.

im not a fan of ice wines or dessert wines but everything that these guys put out is good.

im a huge fan of there RESERVE MERITAGE. their ice wine is pricy but apparently worth it.

im also not sure if they ship to the US from canada but the wife and i drive up there every now and then to get a bottle or two from them. Ohio law may not let it... not to mention the insaine import tax.

I am usually not one for real sweet dessert wines, but I do like Mead. Pick up a bottle and tell me what you think. It is a wine made from honey, that is where the term honeymoon came from.

I'm going to pick some up on Sat. so I will let you all know what I get.

Thanks,
Chris

Boon Doone Ice winve is pretty good. I also like the occasional muscat. Its a pretty good change of pace or substitute if you cannot find ice wine.

I like Ice Wine alot, but I do need to be in the mood for it. I would agree with Capt, Mead is fantastic.
