I have had two Macanudos, which didn't seam too bad, not super great, but not bad. I have heard people talking a lot of smack about them. So what is the deal? Was a rat tail found in one?

Thanks
Martin

Something about designed for cigar posuers. I find them pretty nice though when I just want a mild-medium smoke.

I had enjoyed Macanudo's for years when I first started smoking, they were very smooth and mild, easy on the palate. After my palate satarted to develop I realized that I enjoy the heavy full complex flavors and a fslow building full body.

Macanudo's haven't been able to cut it in that department for me. I do like some of the vintage years, like the 88's and 93's were pretty good, the 93 Vintage #1 was my favorite smoke for a long time.

The construction on Macanudo's are great.....but most smokers seem to get past them....

As soon Ias I found boutique cigars......I got the shovel and buried Macanudo's.....

They were really big during the boom of the 1990's I think because they were so mild. They are purposefully rolled without the Ligero because that is the stronger of the leaves. To many, including myself, that's a sacrilege to cigar smoking history.

I've not had one for about 10 years but if my memory serves me correctly they tasted a little like burning cardboard.

In all seriousness I think it is one simple fact - They SUCK!!!!

Very little flavor - very one toned.
I do remember smoking a maduro one (many years ago)
it was OK since there was nothing better to choose from.
But why spend top dollar on something when there are Lots & LOTS
of better cigars?

Thanks for the info. When I said I had two it was about 3 or 4 years ago. I just have not gone back to them. at the time was when I was starting to smoke cigars and probably didn't know any better.
