Just returned home today at 3PM or so. Left Monday for a get away to the Bavaro Princess all-inclusive Resort in Punta Cana, DR.
I will say this...HOT.
I guess steamy is a more accurate description, the humidity was high but once you got to the beach or pool, and got in the water, EVERYTHING was much more bearable! (did I mention that this is primarily a "european resort", which reads tops optional)...
Even though this is getting into the off season down there, nothing but beautiful sunny skies!
The cigar situation, at least where I was, was a joke. All the good DR stuff is made in the free-trade zone...which means ALL EXPORT. The gift shops at the hotel had a laughable selection of smokes, all off brands with the exception of a few Montecristos(DR made) and some of the Auroras. The shop guy saw me looking over a few of the Preferidios(they had both blue and red tubes). He asks if I smoke? Not much I reply... I tell him I heard these were good(the Preferidios), so he offers me a deal....
$45 US EACH........ :shock:
I had taken smokes with me anyway, but I had a head cold for some of the week, REALLY dampened my smoking spirits...
Speaking of spirits, RUM, was on hand and flowed readily. ( I mentioned it was all-inclusive right? They took a bath on the liquor with me! :twisted: )
Had a lot of fun, got some sun, some rum, who could ask for more???
Good to be back though!

Oh, and anybody that wants a few ginuwine glassplendidos, just PM me, you wouldn't believe the deal I got, the guy just came up to me...such a deal, seriously... :shock: 8)
