Armpit of the world....Al Asad, Iraq
I'll be heading home in 96 hours or less!:hypercolor: :hypercolor: :hypercolor: :hypercolor: :hypercolor:

First a Huey jump to Al Kut, then a C130 to Kuwait AFB then a C5 to Rota, Spain followed by another C5 to Dover AFB. At which point I will take a civilian flight to San Diego.
If all goes well, I should be home by Fri!

I haven't told my wife yet. I want to suprise her! She thinks I'm coming home next week.

I want to thank everyone again and I'll see you soon!

Jeff, Glad to hear that you will be home soon and the surprise will be priceless. God Speed brother and hank You again for what you do for all of us.

Thank You,

Rick

Sweet! The C-5 is the most awesome plane ever! Heh - don't know how riding in one is for long stretches of time, but love the plane at the air shows.

May your travels be swift and safe.

I hope you don't read this because that would mean you're on your way home, but if you do, I wish you a safe flight and joyous greetings.

Good to see some soldiers coming home for a while. Hope everything goes ok!

As always brother your in my prayers! Thank you Jeff!

I feel like an @$$ now. This thread has been here for how long and I finally stumble across it.

I hope all is well with you and your flight is safe.

DD! Where are you brother??? Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hey everybody!

I'm am here, alive and well!

Got home around 0200 on Sat, got in the house undetected, climbed up the stairs trying not to make any noise so that I could surprise my wife, opened the bedroom door to my wife, awake, holding my Kimber .45 pointed my direction! Good thing she waited to find out who I was!

I'm just glad that she thought to protect herself!

After that scare, she was quite surprised and happy to see me!

We spent the rest of the night, talking, holding each other and other things that I won't tell you about!

The next morning when my daughter woke up, I was the one who went to get her out of her crib. Needless to say she was surprised to see me. Scared is more like it. It took her about the entire day to remember who I was! I was a little upset about it but I guess it comes with the territory. All is well now, though.

Sat was a great day just lounging around the house, eating some junk food. That night we had a great steak dinner at home after which I had a Forbidden X. First time for me. VERY good smoke! (Thank you Axe!)

The next day was spent on the couch watching my Bears squeak a victory over the Seahawks! Go Bears!! Hopefully they play a little better against the Saints next week.
It was a bit disappointing that the Chargers lost. Oh well. I'm not the biggest fan of that team anyway.

Today we went shopping for some clothes for my daughter and just to get out of the house.

I have to say it's wonderful to be home. Even though I was only gone for a couple of months, it felt like a lifetime away from my family.

Tomorrow I see the Dr to schedule my surgery. Should be some time in the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to say thank you again for everyone's generosity during the holidays. Once I catch up on some e-mails and a little work, I will get some thank you's out to the people that sent my wife and daughter gifts!

The people here amaze me!

-Jeff

AWESOME!

Good to hear you are home safe Jeff!
Watch out for that Kimber bro! You come home and get a gun in the face, WELCOME HOME! LOL So much for being out of harm's way...

Take a while recouperating bro, (if you see what I'm saying..)

Great to have you back for a while!
SEMPER FI Marine!

I was wondering what happened. Good to see you're home, and at least somewhat safe on your arrival  Don't be a stranger.

Welcome home! I'm sure everyone agrees when I say thank you for serving our country and we're all very happy to see you home safe. As far as the Kimber, well, I'm really glad you didn't get shot. I too have armed my wife (gave her her first fire arm this Christmas), but I only gave her a .22

That's my kind of woman! Good thing you weren't playing dress up as cops and robbers!
