A question about the Osais XL and a Hydometer

I recently purchased a Osais..

Do you fine folks use the AC power strip/cord or go off the battery power?

Right now I'm using the AC power on the thought that I don't want it to die when I'm not noticing. I have two humidors and don't use the one it's in very much, long term storage.

The second question...

I have two hydometers and one has gone haywire on me. I did a salt calibration test and one was way low. Will removing the battery re-set it or am I going to have to replace it (purchase or dealer replace)?

Thanks in advance for the assist.

Mine doesn't have a battery pack but from everything I've read, it isn't meant to run on batteries except if say the your power is disrupted. The pack just doesn't have the voltage capacity for it. As for the hygrometer (hydrometer is for brewing) I've never seen one that can be recalibrated but the first one I do see, I'm buying.

I use the AC on my Cigar Oasis XL and the big diff between AC and Battery Pack Operation from the documentation seems to be on AC the unit checks humidity ever few seconds to see if it needs to run while it only checks every 5 mins if running on Battery Pack.

If a battery change doesn't help the hygrometer then as long as you know how far off it is why bother replacing it? Just mark it with the adjustment and let it go.
