A question about those super rare Opus X cigars.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever smoked a chilli peper or a football or any of the other rare(r) Opus X cigars.
I want to know if those things are actually smokeable...I mean that football looks huge. And do they actually taste good?
Thanks!

I have 2 chili peppers. They look like they will smoke easily. They are about the size of a short story. However, I will probably never smoke them as they are more of a novelty then anything else. They taste like an opus just a different size. However, some of the other sizes do appear to be completely unsmokable. This guys page has long been a favorite. Aparently there are other collections even more comprehensive then his.

Certainly one of the most interesting collections I've ever seen. I've only heard of some of those, never seen almost all, and didn't know most of them even existed. I'll tell you this. The guy has some money, and probably knows Carlito personally. That's the only way you're ever going to HEAR of them, let alone get any. I know a doctor who has a few, maybe all of those. I've never seen his collection, but he's talked of them. The good doctor also knows Carlito personally, which is why he got them. And yes, he's never going to smoke them. I mean, how could you smoke that baseball bat cigar?

ANdrew is a Very Nice guy (owner of the site)
We are friends and I ahve added a few of the cigars to his collection.
(4 color Chilly pepper, 2- 3color Opus A)
There are charity auctions from time to time where these
rare smokes can be had.
Not cheap for sure!
Taht said - smoking rare cigars - well i've never had a Foot Ball - they are made more as art than to smoke - IMHO
But do believe they are smokable.
One of the best cigars I have eve smoke was the 952R
from the Forbidden X collection.
I paid $80 each for 2 and Misa and I smoked them.
It was like doing drugs - just off the planet type of moment.
I was blown away!
I've smoked all the Forbidden X and that was my favorite.
I can't imagine smoking a football - they have been selling for $1000
Kind of high for a smoke - there are so many other cigars to smoke.
The Chilly Pepper is a good smoke - back when I was smoking Non's
But would rather sell it and buy 1/2 box of Cubans.
I just traded away a baseball bat -
it was valued at around $150 - I wanted Cubans instead

The wonderful world of collectibles. If you can get someone who wants it around to look at for the rest of his/her life, they'll pay just about anything to get it. As for me, collectibles yes, but with a limit. I'd rather smoke a cigar than look at it, even one of those footballs or crazy inbetweentheinbetweentheinbetweenthe . . .

aaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!! :ek:

This is one of the cigars I traded with Andrew.
I had it for 2 years and would never smoke it.
It is amazingly beautiful more so than in the picture.
I had a big opus collection in a glass case untill the flood.
I sold most of it - to buy rocks :?

Still have a few humidors and ashtrays around somewhere?

You live on 652,113 acres and you had to BUY rocks? :eek:mg:

You couldn't pay some local bear family to haul them out of the woods and cart them over for you?

Wow! I never imagined the opus x collection to be THIS large. I mean, WOW. I am astounded. Haha this is probably the first time since I was a kid that I wanted a football for my birthday.

Yes My friend buying rocks - I will/am taking all the rocks off my land
(under 90 acres)

I need a lot of rock -
BIG BIG BIG ROCKS

im a little curious as to why you need so much big rock. being that i worked for a dredging and many other things company i saw them fill big holes with big rocks. Do you have big holes CC? :D

By big rocks i mean 8 to 10 rocks in each dump truck and they were over filled.

I had a portion of river bank wash out -
75 feet wide 350 feet long and about 12 feet deep.
The reason for the big rocks is I am on the inside bend in the river.
The preasure when the water flows high/fast is amazing so i am using the big rocks to push the water away from the house.
When I say big _ I mean BIG!
I get 2 rocks in the dump truck.
They put a few smaller rocks in the truck bed to protect it,
but really I am talking 2 car size rocks.
I am looking into flat bedding in some GIANTS!
having a crane put them where the water force is the hardest.

SORRY for the thread jack!

i am not into collecting cigars that i could never bring myself to smoke. It's probably a good thing since i spend so much on normal cigars as it is.
