In my Mack truck somewhere in a Chicago suburb smo
Evel Knieval died at the age of 69 Friday. Still immortal in my opinion. What a showman.

He may have been a bastard in real life, but any guy my age grew up on him. I was sorry to hear he passed. I had the Evel Knievel stunt motorcycle when I was a kid and my friend had the van. My fave quote from him.... "I've lived more than any king or prince." And that he did. He also did his stunts before science/physics came into play. He'd eye the ramp, guesstimate his speed, and twist the throttle. Took balls of steel to do what he did back then.

to me he was just another idgit, that made a living of "here hold my beer and watch this".

It made me sad. It's one more of my childhood idols have passed. I too had the stunt bike. Whatever his personal life was, as a kid, my brother and I would be glued to the TV. Whether it was the fountain in Vegas or the shark tank or Snake Canyon, we thought that those were the coolest things ever.

Whatever you may think of him, he has to be admired for his showmanship if nothing else. I am sure that he will be missed.

RIP to one of the greatest stunt men of our time.

Part of me is still attached to the gooseneck of my hand me down blue Schwinn Sting Ray (the one with the racing slick) because of that ba@&ard!!!!! I had the cycle and van with the jump ramp too.
