as some of you may have noticed i have been gone for awhile from the board and unable to post but have been trying to read once in awhile. i suffered some serious complications from my wreck. i evidently developed a blood clot in my leg that somehow nobody noticed until too late. as a result i suffered a stroke when the blood clot finally broke free and traveled. i suffered a fairly serious stroke though it appears i am going to make a full recovery with some rehabilitation. i have finally recovered full use of my hands again and now am working to complete the rest of my recovery. i know i owe several of you pkgs and will have them sent out within the next week as my mother is now living with me to help me get along. thank you for your patcience and i hope to be posting more in the following time as i miss talking with you.

thank you jeff

I'm sorry to hear of the rough times. Will definitely say a few prayers for you. Hope things only get better for you.

All the best,

Joe

Damn brother!

Take your time healing. A friend of mine had a stroke in high school and didn't take the time to heal properly. To this day his speech is a bit jacked up and he has limited use of his left hand.

Listen to the doctors!

I'll be praying for you!

Jeff sorry to hear of all the suffering.
I wish you a full and speedy recovery.
God Bless

Wow. Best wishes for a full recovery. Relax and watch some movies or something.

We're glad you're back and ok.
Wishing you a quick recovery!

Wow, I guess I know now why they put those pressure leggings on you after an operation.
Take it easy and listen to Devildog's advice.

Recovery

Recovery is going to be hard work. My #1 son had a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Richmond, VA. The Medical College of Virginia, and later, the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services, guided him first in acute phase and then in continuing rehab. He was extremely succesful, because he was a stubborn son-of-a-gun, and a triathlete. He stuck to it, and made it work for him.

A stroke and TBI aren't exactly the same thing, but the same principles apply. He would not quit. He has earned two college degrees after his TBI, completed four Ultra-Triathlons (same as Iron Man), and is now in training for his fifth. He enters, not to win, but to beat his previous time. He is now a Virginia Certified Rehab Counselor, and is helping people like himself.

It won't be fast, it won't be easy, but it is possible. We'll be praying for you, and with you.

Let us know how you are doing.

Jeff you will be in the prayers of my family while you recover. If we can do anything at all please dont hesitate to contact me.

well i had my latest ck up with my doc and got good news. even tho i think things are going slowly doc says i am actually ahead of schedule and doing very well. the only lingering effects i have are the weakness and lack of cordination on my right side. but doc says that it will get better and expects a full recovery but it just takes time and i have always been a lil shory on patience lol. the best news is he gave me the go ahead to smoke some cigars as long as i don't overdue it. so today i had a cigar.com corojo torpedo and goiing to to have a cao mx2 belicoso for the race so it is shaping up to be a good day.

i wish to thank all of you for the prayers and well wishes you have given me it means a lot to me and shows the true heart of the people here. god bless you all
