Just spent a weekend their. My fifth trip to the birth place of the blues and all music that has followed. Finally made it to Sun recording studio. Stood on the spot where Elvis, Johnny Cash, BB King,, Howlin' Wolf,,, Jerry Lee Lewis,, Bono,, and so many more, recorded some of there music. The ghost's filled the air as I walked in. Picked up Howlin' Wolf's, Martin accoustic, and belted out some blue's. Some of it I have never played before. Don't know where it came from. Eerrie!!!!!! Maybe it came from Beale St. I was there the night before.
Best hidden spot in Memphis. If you ever get that way be sure to go in and look it over.
Beale St. is a haven of blues musicians. I saw Blind Mississippi Marvin at B.B. KIng's place. Watermellon Slim at Rum Boogie's. And alot of good thumpers at all the other bars.
A must trip folks.

Memphis is by far one of my most favorite cities! The wife and I did a long weekend a few years ago.

I have had the privelidge of seeing John Lee Hooker twice in my lifetime, and each time it was amazing to hear him, and to be a part of the crowd.

The first time it was at our local concert hall, this little old guy comes out from left stage, and starts walking over to the stool at center stage. The whole auditorium stood and started clapping and cheering, giving him a standing ovation even before he started to play. It was simply incredible to say the least!!
