I was fortunate to meet a true icon of the cigar industry last night. Benji Menendez dropped by the Tobacco Merchant in Irmo, SC for a chat session/cigar tasting. Mr. Menendez is on a national tour for Partagas Cigars. He was extremely patient and loved talking about his beloved Dominican Republic, Brazil, home in Miami, and his lifelong cigar experiences.

TT did Benji tell you he met me at a shop just out side of Pittsburgh last week? , I didnt have a camera with me , I didnt know he was going to be there I just stopped to make a slaes call, & there he was , got to try 3 different wrappers on the same cigar , we talked for almost 20 minutes before some one else came in , had a great conversation with him, I did invite him & the factory rep that was with him to my place for lunch, but he had to do an outher show at 4 & wanted to go to the hotel to take a short nap, when I told him I was a retired chef, he thought about it but the factory rep was a great lookingyoung lady, & she ........ well I dont need to go any farther with the story do I ! hahahaha Enjoy, Vince
