Watching Eli smoke Robs cigars
Ok. I got it read it and the book ROCKS! Gives a more complete picture of the highly acclaimed seriesBand of Brothers The book is written by Dick Winters and is a worthy read.

I'll send it to the first person that responds and wants to read it. In turn when that person is done they can send it on to some one else by coming back here and asking who want to read it next. Please sign the inside cover once you have read the book. If it comes to the point that no one wants to read it (say three days and no response on the forum) just send it back to me.

No Worries Steve

just have the last person wing it to me..I'll put my John Hancock in the cover for ya gladly!

I borrowed this book from the library about 6 months ago and enjoyed every minute - and every cigar - that I read it.

I cannot say enough about how good this book is, and the important mention he gives to my Canadian brothers who fought side by side with troops from all nations to free Europe.

Everyone should read it so that we never forget what these brave men and women went through, and celebrate the freedom that we all enjoy!!

Bravo for starting this thread - its a good one!

My dad gave me a copy of the book. He was there, 101st Airborne. Over the years, as a kid, he would tell snippets of stories about his time there, and when I read the book I kept thinking, "I know this story". Watching the series was sort of like reliving my childhood. He's 80 now, and when he thinks back on it he wonders how he managed to survive it. I know how, he's one tough man. I've met a few others who were there, Dad's friends, and they're all amazing men.

You should get him to autograph that book there brother, and then keep it as a way to remember him.

What those guys went through I would not wish on anyone, and we need to remember them and all they did!!

My Uncle lost his life there, January 1945. Our guys had no winter camo and the German snipers had easy pickins.
He's buried in Belgium with all his Brothers.
My Mother would never watch that series or the any of the historical footage for fear she might see her Brother.
