Care for Cigars in Metal Tins?

Here's a topic I don't remember reading about.

With winter coming on and a "smoking outside only" rule at our house, I've ordered some smaller cigars that come in tins. (Cigar.com's got 10% off Red Dot Cohibas, and their pequenos are tasty!) I guess the best way to keep these is to take them out of the tin and place them in my humidor. Is that true? Is there any harm in just putting the whole tin in the humidor (with or without celophane)? Also, how long can a tin with celophane last without being in a humidor at all?

Thanks for all replies. -JWG

I personally keep the tin in my humidor. That tin adds no humidification. They are still cigars even if they are small and they will dry out and get nasty if you don't keep them properly. Treat them like any other cigar.

That is a great size. I just got a box of the smaller 5 vegas A. Put the cigars in the humidor, tin or no tin does not matter.
