I have some cigars left from the ones that I passed out for the birth of my daughter- they are wrapped in cello.... I also got some of the same brand at the same time that are in tubos... I plan on saving some of the cigars for special occasions throughout her life... my question is would you age the cello wrapped, or would age the tubos?

Tubes - no question about it -
Tubed cigars will age slower & taste better.
Many collectors buy tubed cigars to age - they say they smoke/taste better!

If the cigars are in a good humidor I would take them out of the cello or tube. I like to age my cigars nakes. I like the bite they pick up from the ceder over the years. I guess it is personal preferance.

It is personal...but depending on how long you plan to age them, I would personally leave them in the tubes.

Take a couple out, leave a couple in, and taste the differenc eto see hwat you enjoy more.

Another thing I've heard of people doing is taking them out or leaving the ends off for a year or two, then sealing them up again.

I didn't know you could play wrap on a cello!!

The thing I picked up on another forum is that if you are keeping the Tubo for collection you should leave it sealed. Cracking it lowers its value. 8) 8)

As far as tubes, I leave the cigars in them. Part of the reason for a tube, is to pick up the cedar aroma that the sleeve can give. As for the cello, I cut the end off of the cello flush with the cigar, that way I can take the cigar out if need be, but it will protect it while its in the humidor. It can also age that way with a little air circulation.
