Central Canada, eh?
Should we change our method of chatting - the object of this is to make it easier to use, and get more people involved because it is a lot of fun!

Personally I like using the board. I'm always doing eight things when I'm online and don't have the blocks of time needed to stay on a chat service. Talking through the board lets me do it at my own pace.

I thought he was talking about the actual chat thats up on the top right of the page

What I mean is that if we change, you can have it open on your computer, and then you know if someone is there. Right now there is no way of knowing without logging in and checking - it would make it easier to use - at least that is my thought!

He is. I was saying even though I have IM, ICQ, MSN, and yahoo accounts I never sign into them due to lack of time. The way it is I can just sign on through the forum and talk with cigar folk without being visiable to everyone else.

That would work Chris - since I have no life I could do it just about any time in the late evening!!

What do the other Chris's say!

As the new Chris (the new Doc-T) - I am cool with this - it's just I can't stay up too late - maybe we could have some early sessions too.

All I want is someway to be able to tell when someone is actuall IN the chat room!!!!! Right now it's a crap shoot...unless I'm missing something!

Maybe we can create a new thread and call it something like "Chatting Now" or "I'm In the Chat Room" or "SWM looking for companion" etc. etc.

Then anyone who wants to chat should post a new message to that thread BEFORE entering the chat room. This will move the thread to the top of the page with the date and time of the post. Anytime the thread is near or at the top of the list, we'll know at least one person is in the live chat area.

Just a suggestion.

(only kidding about the swm thing  )

When I log in it shows that people are there but when I get to the chat room all I see is a blank screen.

What time is too late for you.....

Gramps?????

LOL - I'll give you a beatdown with my cane, youngster! I am good up to about 9pm and then forget it!

I agree that it would be nice to have a way to know that someone is online without having to actually go and log in every once in awhile. I am cool with whatever is decided.

Well, gotta run - it's almost 2pm and I like to get a seat for the dinner specials.

See, I knew that dejoro was more than just a pretty face!! And what is wrong with SWM's looking for company???

No, I think this is a good idea to try untill we decide to do something else. The votes so far are for moving to AOL for it, and maybe we could start that on a trial basis for July.

I aprecate the discussion this has created, I mean that is what this is all about isn't it, sharing our ideas about our favourite topic women, I mean cigars.
