I just bought a basic travel-sized humidor (the Traveldor) from cigar.com and it did not come with anything to moisten the humidification device. Do I need to use their 'Travel Mist' solution or is there something else I can use instead?

I would just use distilled water, and only if the cigars are going to be in there for a period of time...otherwise they will be fine...

This time of year in Chicago, I don't even need humidification...it's rediculous, I have been looking into dehumidifiers!!

Hmmm - so, being in Pittsburgh where we currently have 60% humidity today, I don't always need to have some sort of humidifying solution? I'm new to humidors and I bought this one because it only holds a few cigars.

How long do you think they could go before I need to add distilled water?

Cybrus, There are way more knowledgable folks on here that say you can tell by the feel of the stik if it's ready. I'm not near anything like that.

If she gets hot quick, too dry.
won't burn good, too wet
cracked wrapper, too dry then too wet!

This humidity in Pgh. won't last forever. Come winter you'll need a humi.

Check the introduce yourself thread, I posted to you there.

I keep my cedar lined 3 cigar travel case in my humidor when I'm not using it.

I always moderate my humi's, I personally enjoy a lower RH, 67% is too high for my taste, so I'll take out the Humidification til it drops to where I like it.

A humidor is a must, if you are using it as a humidor, fill the humidification up with distilled immediately.

I use my Hygrometers as a guide, but it definately comes down to how they smoke!! :D
