Okay, who here will admit to being a sucker for a stick in a cool looking box or band? I've bought a few that looked cool: some tasted good, others did not.

Was near a local smoke shop and popped in. Saw the new CAO Vision and had to pick up a stick to try. By far the coolest box I've seen yet.

Anyone else wanna fess up?

LOL... I think we've all been guilty of this at some point. I've often wondered how cigars would do in a blind taste test where nobody could see their favorite bands. Would we like our faves as much if we didn't know for sure what they were?

That being said, the 5 Vegas bands are pretty cool, I like the big fat "5" on them. I really like the cigars but there are plenty others out there as well, so I think that given a set of cigars that we like equally, we would tend to go for the one w/the band that appeals to us the most.

I've got a buddy who is a graphic designer and I've smoked a few sticks where he's asked to keep the band.

The Don Lino Africa is another one of these. One of these days I am going to own one of those boxes if I can ever find one for what I want to pay for it.

And the smokes that come in them are pretty cool too!!

I used to avoid cigars that had what I thought was inferior packaging and labeling. . It took me a while when I first started smoking to pick up a regular Padron because I thought the labels were pretty lame. I also gravitated to cigars with labels that I thought were typical of good cigars: Cuesta Rey, La Gloria, that sort of thing.

These days I know better and even if a cigar has a really slick design I'm still not sold on it. Matter of fact as good as the CAO Vision is to smoke I think that the packaging is a bit garish for my taste.

I think that my favorite cigar box right now is the La Aurora 1495, it just looks old style, almost like it's 30 or so years old. Favorite band would probably be the Bolivar line with the pic of Simon Bolivar on the band, those look pretty old style as well. Thumbs up.

Ghurka bands are pretty cool also....and some of the cigars are good too!!
