cigar tasting

I have come uop with an idea. Forever I have been frustrated that there cant be cigar tasting like wine tastings becuase it is too expensive. Where wine tastings can have one bottle feed 10 tasters it works well for wine. But smokers cant share a cigar nor can the smoke must an inch and move on to the next cigar for tasting becuase that is wasteful. There is a wine shop by my house that has monthly tasting events where vendors come in and do a wine 101 followed by a sampling.

SO HERE IS AN IDEA! Before I get started I am sure this is still 1. too expensive and 2. not a really great representation of the cigar should taste like but it is close.

Vendors should make a very short version of their cigars. ie a 2 x 50 or a 2 x 44 or maybe even only 1.5 inches long. not sure i dont have a frame of reference handy. Then they can really let people do some sampling of the various blends and it would not be so wasteful or expensive.

Not to mention such a cigar would be very appealing to me as a consumer becuase I could try the blend without spending a lot on a single and not be so pissed if I dont like it.

What are your thoughts on this?

i like the idea, but as you said it may or may not be a good representation of the larger cigars. i also don't think it will ever happen.... but still a good idea.

I think that is an EXCELLENT idea...in theory. I small sample of wine is just that, a small sample of wine. An ounce is as good as a gallon. But with cigars this isn't the case. We all know that cigars will change as they are smoked (1st inch will be "X" while the last 3rd will be "X"). I'm sure if there were two cigars side by side, one an Ashton churchill and the other cigar was the exact same tobacco but it was only a 3x36 size cigar you'd swear that they weren't the same. But then again, what do I know? :D Simp

I love it. A 2x44. We could have special names for them.

The Robert Blake - A 1.75x48 ring beauty, this cigar will not change it's story no matter how long they make it. This little Shorty of a cigar will make you remember "little Mickey" as he was in his Our Gang and Baretta days, short, thick, strong, funny and half sleazy. :pumpkin:

The Susan Lucci - A beautiful perfecto of 1.5x36 proportions, this one will give you one sweet performance after another, but never win any awards.

The Paul Williams - This 1.33x46 cigar will sing you a song of lovely tobacco, and comes with a list of all the songs he wrote for ultra-famous singers and groups.

The Leah Remini - This 1.5x50 named after "The Queen of Queens" :pumpkin: is short, hefty in all the right places, and with a powerful flavor profile, and a very hot burn, a nice warmup for a larger cigar, IF you can handle her. :cryinlaugh:
