i am almost done with my coolerdor, it has been airing out its plastic smell for a few days and i have L brackets mounted in it for shelves, and feet mounted on the bottom for stability.

my question is what should i use for my shelving? i was thinking about plexiglass since it has no odor. i dont want to use a wood that would end up being bad for the humidor.

so far i have spent $43 (120qt igloo cooler and 8 L brackets), so i guess i could splurge on some spanish cedar shelves if its needed

Glad to hear it's almost done. A buddy of mine decided to make one as well a few years ago. I gave him a bunch of dress boxes (the ones covered in paper, wasn't gonna give him the nicer wooden ones), he broke them apart, and soaked them in warm water (not too hot or the wood will warp). Once he got all the paper and glue off he let them dry then lightly sanded them. Then he cut them to fit and they were good to go. It took him a while but it looked nice. It's a little time consuming, but if you have some boxes lying around It'll save you some cash. Just remember that not all boxes are made of spanish cedar. Look for the ones that are a light pink.
