Ok I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm just learning..LOL..I tend to really be hit and miss with the cutting of my tip and it seems to so screw the stick if it's done wrong should I be looking at buying a punch tool ? Also I would love to try the Torpedo line of sticks is there anything I need to know about clipping the end of these styles? I thought I would be more of a corona guy but Donny got me into the robusto and damn I really like the thicker more full feeling of this ring size...My local shops are so lousy regarding hit and miss quality...Small town jack crap for the side goodies..ashtrays...lighters...gonna have to call Donny I guess...my first humidor is coming this weekend really excited only a 100ct but hey gotta start somewhere...does anyone have a cool site with pics of home smoking rooms for designs..I going to build a cigar/single malt scotch/jazz room ...thanks Thesmoke 8)

IMHO you should go ahead and invest in a nice XiKar cutter. I have the Rosewood and it is awesome. I am also new to smoking, and there is a great article in the first Cigar.com catalogue about the proper technique of cutting a cigar. I think figurados are easier to cut than the flat shape of cigars. Just my .02.

by far the best cutter i have ever used.

When I was taught to cut a cigar I was told only one thing....

Be careful. Of course, I have been known to bite the ends off of my cigars!!!!

I usually use a punch on my cigars because when I smoke I tend to chew on the end of the cigar a lot, which leaves lots of little cigar fragments in my mouth/teeth. Sometimes I can not get enough smoke out of only one punch hole, so I will put two or three together to make one big one.
