I'm honestly humbled...I was having a rough week being apart from my family for as long as I have, and you reminded today, that through this forum I have friends everywhere I go, whether it be in person or not is not the point.

You generosity was mind numbing, an now, look for return fire my brother!!

Ps - I didn't open the box through the Corp sticker, I thought it disrespectful!! It's now hanging proudly on my coolidor!

Actually, yeah.
He got the last pkg that we sent him and has been enjoyingit every day since then!

He will be returning some time in April. No set date yet.
When I get the date I'll be sure to let everyone know.

He e-mailed me the other day saying that he had to go to an OP (observation post) to survey in a point. No big deal, right? It's our job, we do it, we get out.
Well, it turns out that at THIS particular OP there has been a lot of enemy sniper fire. And to add to that, the last surveyor that went out there was shot.
He says, "Man, I haven't done anything for 3 months. Now I've got short time, and they're sending me to a post that get attacked regularly!" I just told him to keep his cool, keep his head down and when they shoot....shoot back.
This was his first time in the suck. He was pretty nervous about going. I was too my first time.
Now it's no big deal. HA! Right!
The suck SUCKS EV-R-EY time!
 
Let us hope that The Lord will protect him, and that the president's efforts to find a way to minimize those damn IED's will lead to less casualties and better things in Iraq overall.
 
Only way we are gonna decrease those is to take care of Iran. Unfortunately.

and yes, it looks like Iran is next. We should have taken care of Iran in 78, 79. I noticed once Reagan was sworn into office our hostages came right home. That wimpy Carter should have taken care of buisness during his term.
 
Well, Carter tried, with that well intentioned plan involving helicopters and a dust storm. Nice try, too bad Jimmeh had no Plan B. People blame everything including the Babe Ruth trade on Dubya, and forget Carter's playing footsie with the Shah, not to mention the Munich Olympics massacre. As soon as Reagan said I do, the plane was allowed to take off with the 52 hostages. They knew Reagan wasn't going to take any more than the 444 days of crap that America had already endured.
