that Torano makes cigars for both Gurkha and CAO? I love all these cigars and now I think I know why!

I love the Brazilia that CAO sells, and it's made by Torano.
I love the Doble Maduro that Gurkha sells and it's made by Torano.

Now...CAO and Gurkha may have a special blend that they require but it's very interesting that Torano makes cigars for a lot of other companies!

Who knew??!!!

Wow - I had no idea. I like the Brazilia alot - but I LOVE that Doble Maduro. Great info.

I knew they sold tobacco to a lot of companies but didn't know that they rolled for other companies too. I guess it only logical.

There are a suprising number of cigar brands that are not manufactured by the name on the band.

A recent discussion with a senior editor at cigar Aficionado was about how there are only around 10 cigar companies in the world that are completely vertical. (dirt to door) How many brands are out there?

Torano is one of them and they kick butt. They are putting out some great stuff (for themselves and others). Smoke up!

I use to smoke an occasional Torano, after having some dealings with Frankie, I decided I could do without them.

Thats interesting. I really like the CAO's and Gurkhas I've smoked better than the Toranos.

when the gurkhas first hit the market I didnt care for them , the first ones I saw were infused with cognac & that turned me off, the next batch I saw were BIG$$$ , so I didnt even try them , thought they might be expencive flavored smokes & nothing I detest more than a big buck flavored seegar , I have a buddy who is a Torano smoker, he smokes the entire line , all the different blends, it is HIS go to smoke , as far as CAO , I havent ever had a bad one , YET, but I am still looking , Brazillia, Italia, are in my top 10 , one thing I do know , Lars Teatons & Acids are not in my top 100 !
Enjoy, Vince

Vince has engaged his WMD, Web-eons of Mass Destruction. My eyes are all funny now, don't know if I can see or not.

 :dunno:

Some CAO is still made in Nicaragua by Perdomo I believe. The gold I know is one of them. If you go to the Cigar.com brands pages and go to each CAO to look for country of manufacturer, CAO cigars made in Nicaragua are from Perdomo, Honduras are from Torano, and the Dominican are from La Aurora

I dont know how I did that ???

I have found that the two brands that I prefer are both rolled in Honduras, Indian Tabac and Sancho Panza. I do not know that they are rolled by someone out of their brand-I know that Indian and Fire are Rocky, but that is common knowledge. The only other brand that I am hooked on is the Alec Bradley line, also rolled in Honduras. I suppose that it is possible that Indian and the Alec Bradley Trilogy are from the same rolling line since they are both from Danili, but I do not know the market down there and do not know if there are several factories. Paul
ps my understanding is that many very loved isom cigars come from the same lines over a wide variety of factories. P

Vince, Gurkha cigars need age on them. Three years is about right. Bloof would have to age one about 37 years. A wonderful smoke once aged.

Well Col. , I will pick up a few & put them away for a few years & give them a try again , are they all infused or are some of them just tabacco flavored ?

Most, or all I think, are premium non-infused cigars. They are good, but expensive at normal price. They are one of those brands that places like to put on sale.
