I made a big mistake a couple of days ago. The weather here in jersey has been windy and dry for like to weeks now, (you can already see wear I'm going with this can't you), so I decided to try to get my moister up in the old humi box's. We'll I use a jar in each one and they work very good, but this dry weather has been bad. So I got out the old sponge things I had put away, filled them up and put them in the box's. The were ranging from about 55% to 59% a little low but nothing to get upset about, I knew it was dry out. We'll today I go into the good box, and low and behold there is water all over the bottom of it. After I got myself off the floor I pulled out everything and took out the sponge, should throw it away, and sopped up the water. Luckily only one cigar got wet, I cant explain that, maybe it soaked up the water? It was a cao brazille "gol" I had it for like a year. I dried it off and smoked it, not to bad actually, stayed lit, burnt good. I hope the box will be OK, I'm gonna get a big one with an oasis as soon as I can get some money up. Any way, don't be like me, be patient with you're box's and try not to drown you're good cigars.

Good advice. A humidity level of as low as 55% is NOTHING to panic about. I can say that both from long personal experience and the following; many years ago, I read an article on the Cigar Aficionado web site about cigar storage by our friends across the pond in Merry Olde England. Turns out nobody knows more about cigar storage and collection than the blokes who dine on such fare as bangers and mash, pie with chips and spotted dick. Although the big houses over there don't store their cigars that low, the implication was clear that humidity levels as low as 55-60% need not make anyone concerned about "damage" to their cigars.

Cooksnj is right. Patience is a virtue, in many matters.

To avoid another travesty make sure to get that ceder dried all the way out before you re-season. I would hate to see another post in the future about your new mold problem!
