Dog Days of Summer

I just thought of something last evening that I'm sure we all can relate to.
Here in South Western PA we are having the dog days. No Rain, Hot as hell and the evening air is Thick and Still.
Perfect for cigar smoke!
You sit in the backyard and the cloud of smoke just hangs there. You get a second chance to savor it just sitting there.
The color and the aroma and the smoke rings will go five or six feet across the yard!
I Love it! :D

Sounds nice....I can feel the ambiance! I always love it when the smoke just hangs there, thick and beautiful....yes, I am still talking about cigars!

Chicago is going through some of the same weather...Hot and Humid, in the upper ninties all week....although we did get a lot of rain last week...

Yep, that's one of my requirements for all my smoke. Big Volume and a heavy finish.
I hear about the Chi-town weather from our office there. It's by Midway. I have customers up there that I have to visit someday.

When we get those hot and humid days and the air seems to sit like a blanket my neighbors can smell my cigar from 20 yards.

August is such a melencholy month for me sometimes. It marks the beginning of the end of summer. This year though, I'm anticipating a good, slow August. Ordinarily, I would be running around like mad now, to get ready for a big 2 week medieval battle recreation that I go to. It consumes my time for the last two weeks of july and most of August. I'm not going this year so I'm rolling into August with a relaxed calmness. My wife is going to the event for a few days with her girlfriends and that gived me the house mostly to myself. I'm taking a sunny day and calling off work. I'm going to make myself a great breakfast in the morning...then go out back for a swim and a morning cigar. Then I'll make a nice lunch...have a swim and an afternoon cigar....then I'll make some sea scallops wrapped in bacon for a pre-dinner snack...
Then I think I'll have steak and lobster for dinner with a swim and a cigar for desert. Later in the evening as the sun gets low...I'll lite another stick and sit in the glider and watch the sun go down. Drinking will be involved. :D

Ahh...the dog days of summer....
Razor!...you in? :D

Surf and turf, cigars and scotch, it doesn't get better than that in this lazy, hazy month of August!!

Southwest eh? I'm from the Northeast but I'm going to be attending Penn State Altoona in the fall. Anywhere near there?

Altoona is way east of us Bob. I'm about 15miles west of PGH on the Ohio river. I do have a Penn State campus adjacent to my back yard though.

It shouldn't be legal for you to be talking about all this good food and good cigars while I'm at work.

its not often that I get a vacation from my wife so I'm going to live it up! :D
