The Matrix?
Anyone else here from or have relatives in Hawaii?
An earthquake struck the state which followed with numerous aftershocks. The hardest hit was the the Big Island.
I'm originally from Honolulu.
My mom called me at about 10:10am Pacific (7:10am Hawaii) Sunday morning immediately after the first main quake of 6.7(?) magnitude struck. As we were talking, an aftershock of 5.8 magnitude hit them. Power outages followed, along with additional aftershocks. After we ended our call, I was not able to contact them nor any of my relatives again until late last night. I got the usual "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later" message. I was able to text-message my relatives on the Ewa side of Oahu, and they are all ok.
My dad still have not been able to contact my grandmother (Lihue, Kauai) or aunt (Kapaa, Kauai). But since reports state there have been no fatalities, and Kauai is farthest from the epicenter, my dad is not one bit worried.
My niece and nephew are having fun and treating the power outtage as if they are camping, and hoping they have no school today (Monday). Gotta love kids!
Hope all is well for the folks on the Big Island.
