While at an auction last weekend, I bought a full box of old cigars. They're Tampanolas out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Has anybody here heard of them? Does anybody know how to date cigar maker's union labels? I checked CigarNexus and googled all kinds of keywords but couldn't find anything besides some box opener listings on ebay.

I doubt I'll ever smoke any or do anything else with them, but it'd be interesting to know how old they are.

Why no try to smoke one - at least that way you can say you tried?

What I would do is take them to an antique dealer, you never know, you might find someone who knows someone who knows what you've got. I mean its worth a try anyway.

Some of those antique guys are pretty good, but you probably want one who specialises in Americana.
