New Jersey
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. I Drove from my house in New Jersey to my college apartment today. When I got in one of the first things I did was take my humidor out of my car and put it in my room. A few minutes later, when I opened the lid I found a nice surprise...my humidifier leaked all over the back wall of my humi. Lucky for me almost all my cigars where still in there cello wrappers. I just put them in last week. Only a few got hit by the 50/50 solution, and it was just on their caps which will be cut so no damaged has been done. Here are a few pics, I will have a nice water mark now, but since I plan to keep this humi filled no one will ever see =)

I now know when traveling to take my humidifier out since its only at most 2 hour drive.

Were you using a foam "credo" or beads??. That seems like alot of liquid to be coming out of a foam type humidifier.

a Diamond Crown Humidifier they leak when shaken a bit

I had a similar thing happen with a cigar oasis last year. It was freshly filled and deposited a nice spot in the bottom of my humi. Traveling to and from NJ for college break is dangerous.

I can see an oasis leaking like that since there is a reservoir. But a foam humidifier should not have that much liquid inside to leak unless something touches it and draws out the moisture. If in fact a diamond crown is a credo type??

That is why you should invest in a nice travel humidor. You can get one on CCOM or at any B&M shop. Xikar makes a great one, and I think it was on sale at CCOM a while back.

I gotta get myself a nice three stick holder for taking cigars from my office to the house. The ziplock baggy thing is getting old!

I agree Cutter!
My wife gave me a good 3 stick humi. for Christmas last year. It has turned out to be one of the best gifts she has given me other than the humidor she gave me for my b-day. It is perfect for taking to the golf course, from house to office, or to and from the S&B.

i have the 5 stick version. if i need to move more than that i take all humidification devices out of the humidor and pack 'er up tightly.
