Well, I just ordered the Fuente Forbidden X DVD and two cigar package along with some Graycliff Reds and a box of Helix. I don't know if I want to try the Forbidden X's or let them age. Any suggestions?

I also vote for the age. Any fresh Opus can be very strong. Letting them sleep for at least 6 months will make a world of difference. I have smoked some from 2 years ago, and the difference is unbelievable. :sleeping:

While the Forbiddens remind me of a well-aged Opus, I'd also say to let them rest for a while before lighting one up.
Plus, I've come to realize something personally: If I drop say 15-30 per cigar and smoke it right away, what I had was hopefully a good cigar (or a great cigar at those prices). But if I let it sit in the humi, admire it from time to time, crave it...it's worth alot more to me than the money spent when I finally decide to smoke it.
And Opus only get better with age 8)

No harm in letting them rest, smoking them too fast could be a waste of money.

I agree with what the Capt said:
rest = months
age = years

Almost Every cigar will improve with either.
The more the better -

as for Helix - the maduro was ok, the natural was flat.
But a good starter smoke - mild enough to not hurt a light weight.

Sorry Bloof, I used mine up starting campfires and building treehouses for the kids.

:lol: :lol: :lol:

I don't mind the forbidden's, they seem a little tame by opus standards for sure, and seem to have a entirely different aroma...I think I have a few lying around though looking to become the old guys in the humidor...

Mild enough not to hurt a 5 year old, running a marathon, with asthma.

Marathon runner- Yes!
Asthma - Yes!

5 years old - No! :roll: :wink:
