The hills and the hollers
I thought it would be cool to add a topic about gardening.

This year I started a very small garden (4X15) in my back yard. I have planted Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Serrano and Cayenne peppers, sweet banana peppers, Red Onion, and Squash. I know, I know, I don't have nearly enough room for all that, but I though it would be fun to grow some of my own veggies. I have added a few pics and will update with progress.

I also planted some herbs in a large planter by my house. Thyme, Sage, Cilantro, Basel, and Mint

Nothing like vegetables right from the back yard! Good luck! (before you know it you will be buying a pressure cooker and cases of mason jars.

I made my own topsy-turvy tomato, hungarian hot pepper, and cucumber planter's. First yr. at trying them, on t.v. they want like 25.00 for these things, made of cheap plastic.
Made them out of 5 gallon buckets. Drilled a 2 inch hole in the bottom of them. Stuck the plants in upside down. Wrapped the roots with peat moss, to help hold them in place. Filled about half full of soil. Found good solid place to hang them. Summer storms may do some damage if not hanging solid.
Also have 3 window boxes filled with dirt. 2 for green onion's, 1 for leaf lettuce.
Hope they do well.

Can you post a pic of them? I would not mind trying to make one myself. Just want to see your set up.
Good luck with the growing season!

right now i'm growing RABBITS- rumor is they taste like chicken-i figured why fight it- they got all the crops last year-but wouldn't touch the brussel sprouts-

PB- No, I have not had a chance to call her this week. I was thinking about it today and lost track of time.
T-Star...If you get a couple of rabbits, I have a great recipe "Jack Daniels Rabbit" (works with squirrel too)
(Insert Redneck joke here), Seriously, I love me some rabbit!

Me too!

I second both the pictures and the cornbread recipe!
