Celebrated last night at a Newark Spanish/Basque restaurant;

Shrimp in Garlic sauce
Bottle of Spanish wine (red)
Medallions of Filet Mignon in Sherry sauce
Stuffed Scallops
New York Cheese cake,.............. $95

Back at home in the spa;

104 degree water
Almost full moon
Fuente Double Chateau Maduro
Glass of Lagavulin,........Priceless

Since my son is sick as a dog....we will be doing takeout tonight. We had planned to go out to dinner with the kids and catch a basketball game - but it looks like we will listen to the game and have chinese. And wine, lots of wine.

Hye Kelven have you ever tried Vietnamese? Its a little different than Chinese, adn can be very good. You should be able to get that in Jersey. Garlic chicken wings are to die for, and if they have them frogs legs are EXCELLENT!

Kelvin, what wine do you have picked out?

Tonight I am going with 2001 Eschol Ranch Cab Sav. At 12 bucks a bottle it is very good. Nice fruit and great texture.

I've never had Vietnamese - definitely have to try it. Up here in Sussex County there are NO Vietnamese restaurants at all. It's a little different up here. I will keep it in mind when I get back down to civilization! Thanks for the tip.

I'm thinking of the Steel Creek Pinot Noir - it's very smooth and the taste of berries just explode all over the place. It's about $10 per bottle but well worth it. I am due for a trip to Total Wines in West Orange so I will pick up a bottle of that Eschol Ranch Cap and give it a whirl.

Have you been to Fornos of Spain, and if so - how would you compare them?

It's been a while since I have been to that area - but after reading about the shrimp in garlic sauce - I am starting to think I need to get back that way.

Went to Forno's last year. It is more elegant than Casa Vasca, which is smaller and more intimate. I did however have a shrimp dish at Fornos that was out of this world(I think it was called BBq shrimp) Huge shrimp with heads still attatched. Fornos also has better Sangria. I also Like Iberia( both of them), Spain, Spanish Tavern, Mediteranian Manor, and have yet to try Don Peppi's

Aren't all lawyers cheap? its their services that cost a bundle. :lol: :thumbsup:
