My wife and I celebrate our 20th this October. We are going on a cruise but I'd like to be able to light up on the boat. Has anyone had experience in this realm? We are considering New Orleans to Cozumel.....

Most outside decks are smoking friendly. No smoking in the ship though.

Like Capt said, you can smoke on the outside decks, but, only on one side. I can't remember if it is port or starboard. I know I got told several times that I was smoking on the wrong side of the ship!

I've been looking into this myself, and if you spring for cabin with a balcony, it seems most cruise lines allow smoking on the balconies as well...What a way to relax for the evening...let us know what you decide on

No experience here since I'm deathly afraid of any body of water in which I can't see the bottom. But if I'm not mistaken there's a cruise line for cigar smokers. Restaurants, lounges, and a huge humidor as I recall the ad.

I've been on several cigar friendly cruises you see all you have to do is join the Navy and... I should be a recruiter. :p

Now that is FunnY
Can he bring his wife?

Hold on! Yes, you can smoke on deck, but I just went on a cruise in October and they had a sports bar where you could smoke inside. Needless to say, that's where we spent a lot of evenings! The cruise line was Carnival. Call your cruise line and ask where you're allowed to smoke cigars. That way you won't be surprised when you get on board!

Sadfully no. It becomes a very long six months. But if you think about it, do you wanna be in extremely close quarters for 6 months straight with no escape from her? :?

Thats cool 40smith I also am planning a cruse october 15 to 22 out of galveston to jamaica. Im getting a balcony room so i can smoke :D

Just know 99.9% of everything you come across on cruizes and the islands are fakes!
I know it seem hard to believe 99.9%
But I tell you the truth!

A little about those really cool balconies....They are very very windy when out to sea, the constant blowing of the wind will almost definatley cause burn issues, and ashes everywhere, but it is very cool! I sprung for a suite for my honeymoon as I have cruised over 15 times in my life, so, I upgraded at a very reasonable rate.

I have had a balcony in the past, but wasn't married so.... not allot of time in the room...

Anyhow, CC is absolutely right....99.9999999% of anything in the islands are fakes, no matter how reputable the shop, and no matter how many people swear to you that they are authentic.

i did the New Orleans to Cozumel stretch a few years ago, was very enjoyable! Spent 3 days in the Big easy, and got on the ship for 7 days....Mmmmmmm 8)

Ahhhh......the wind on the balcony  I know I p*$$ed off a few fellow vacationers as the ash from the cigar blew to the next balcony (there is a divider). An old lady stuck her head around screaming at me as I was standing in my boxer shorts enjoying some coffee and watching the sunrise.

Also, another tiime, I was done with the cigar and tossed it overboard from the balcony and watched it fall onto the plastic cover of the life boat!!!! I ran inside and pretended I did nothing wrong!

:cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: I did something very similar!! USMC!! Anyhow, the views are beautiful, but Not extremely practical.

For a special occasion(which I gues is why ost people cruise) it's worth it.
