I went to my local cigar shop, yesterday, to support the local economy and discuss the intricacies of humidifying in a West Texas winter. I purchased several cigars. Being a fan of Gurkha, I picked up a Cellar Reserve XO. I didn't let this one rest in my humidor. The draw was decent and I fired it up. The first inch of the cigar was great. Mild to medium flavor. A very enjoyable cigar. After the first inch it all went to hell. The draw became harder and the burn became very uneven. Between the hard draw and trying to fix the terribly uneven burn, the taste suffered.
Cigars are my relaxation but, when I have to fight to keep it going, that ruins it for me.
That being said, I will try another one. The first inch was great. Maybe I grabbed the sour apple from the bunch. The next one will rest in my humidor for a month or so.
I'll let you know how that goes.
