I've never tried this cigar before. But I have yet to smoke a Gurkha I didn't like.

Anyone tried this? What did you think?

i havent had one but i too havent met a gurhka i didnt like...i just received a g3 from a pif and hadnt heard of it before...i'll prolly smoke it in a couple weeks

It is newer release. Full bodied costa rican maduro.

Some people (on another forum) are saying that it was released and in a JR special about a year ago. If it was shown at the RTDA, I don't see how that's possible. Since they're both triple ligero cigars and have similar names, It sounds to me like they're confusing it with the Hansotia X3.

Did they just reband the X3 Gurkha?

one things for sure, regardless, the g3 band is hideous, especially by gurkha standards...not that the band really matters much

The smoke its self is very nice. Smooth and tasty. I've smoked a couple and loved them both.

I have a box of last year's blend. The smoke is full and smooth, but the wrapper is a bit on the brittle side. They age very nicely.
