One of my favorite cigars was a cigar I had ten years ago and i recieved three as a gift. to this day i have not been able to locate more of them. i am not even sure they are still made or if they are any good but would like to track them down to try. at the time they were only available in mexico.

they were called mexican montecristos and sported the montecristo logo but clearly stated that they were mexican. each cigar came packaged in a glass tueb and each tube was wrapped in paper that had the montecristo logo on it. Each of these wrapped tubes also came packed in a gold box with the word montecristo in cursive written and embossed on the gold box.

If anyone has any of these or can find them please let me know asap for a trade or something.

Thanks everyone for any help.

I hope you don't mind???
BUT-
I reposted this on another site -?
I know alot of the guys there and well I figured if I can find them I'd hook you up!

i forgot to add that you need to scroll down almost to the bottom. If they are what you want tell me so that i can order some for myself :D

bildo,
i am in tears over here. that is the cigar i am looking for, but the phone number listed is no longer in service :( But at least we are getting close. I will follow this post and try to pull the description off the link bilbo sent me.

It's not an easy task for a non-Cuban cigar boasting the prestigious Monte Cristo name to pass the discriminating taste test I put all cigars through....however, this new brand that recently came to market did just that. Sold exclusively in Mexico until now, this surprisingly smooth and aromatic cigar is made from a blend of three tobaccos tracing back to their Mayan heritage, with the best Sumatran wrapper. The Lonsdale I thoroughly enjoyed measured in with a 42" ring size...what is real nice is the fact that each cigar comes sealed within a glass tube--in order to maintain maximum freshness--and then is individually packaged within a cardboard box. Suggested retail, including shipping and handling, for a box of 25 is only $175.00. Comparable to the very finest Cuban cigars, this Monte Cristo will delight the palate of the most discerning cigar connoiseur who is lucky enough to find one. For additional information on ordering these fine cigars, please call 1-800-266-6245 extension 4968. Wholesale accounts also welcome.

3 opus x RDC's to anyone who can get me to an active source/ store. That should sweeten the deal. Thanks everyone.

damn, i really want to try these cigars now that i have read your post and this guy's description. don't worry im trying to find a box for each of us.

I found a guy that lives in Guadalajara.
He asked me what size I want?
Not sure of what they cost?
Let me know what size.

CC,
Do you know if he is able to buy them or just has some in his stash. I would be interested in a group buy with macallan if he can go and buy them.

I am not really sure of details?
I think he has access to them at his local shop.
I'll PM him the email addy and they can go from there.
Any cigars sent should go to him - not me!
I am not a Opus guyu and they would be wasted on me.
& all I did was post words on a computer - no biggy!
Glad to help!

I am looking for really any size. Not sure how easy it will be to get them from mexico but am willing to try anyting.

The response i got from Altadis, which says just what i expected....

Thank you for your email. The cigar you are lookingfor is actually not
a regular production cigar. In fact, it is a counterfiet Montecristo.
I'm sorry I could not be of more help. If you send me your mailing
address I will send you a few sample "real" Montecristos for you to try.

and yes i did send her my address for some "real" montecristos

altadis owns half of habanos now from what i hear. they bought in when there was money trouble. maybe she will send me the "real" "real" montecristos. yea i wish. thats one 50% share i wouldn't want to pay for. i wonder how long before castro boots them out.

I am sure that is why I cant buy any in the states. Altadis owns the US trademark.
