hi all am new to this forum. but have smoked cigars for years. my question how is the besy way to preserve cigars without a humidor.note have just got back from the dominican republic. what a load of rip off merchants. have got to be the dearest in the world. its realy sad because i would have bought but not at their prices. (they make them for christ sake) (i know its not cigar related) but my partner was going to be charged £7 for a lighter and 2 packets of roll-up papers

Tupperware and a damp sponge does me right. If you want to invest a little more time, someone around here can tell you how to make a make shift humidor from a cooler.

i have got a sealed box of cohiba esplendidos (fakes) i was wondering how long they might keep being sealed and unopened .the cooler seems a great idea. i have one i never use. please someone give me the gen regards ken

Yep - get a tupperware container that fits your cigars well - not alot of extra room. Instead of a damp sponge, I use something called water pillows - you can get them from almost any smoke shop - and throw one in per 5 or so cigars...

For about $5, you can purchase the Fuente humidor bag. Cigars last from 4-6 months. They come in three different sizes. Most local smoke shops sell them, or you can even look online. Just my two cents!

Wondering if they came in the famous Glass Top Box?
Just for note - No official Cuban cigar has ever been released in a box with a glass top.
If you see them they are FAKE!

the box has plastic wrapping still i assume they are fakes because the clown in the shop said castro has given dom/republic to make cohibas (wouldnt think that to be true) what an interesting site this is. went to cuba some years ago and was talking to some canadians. their friends bought cigars on a previous visit at the airport. got home. and found the bottom layer was sand . so the moral is open the box and make sure you have got 2 rows
