How do you track your aged smokes in a desktop

I read someone mention this eariler and have been meaning to ask this question ever since. What is a good way to date your sticks when they go in the humi so you will always know the exact time they have been resting.

Anyone know of any good labels or bands you could use to write a date on. Any other ideas are appreciated!

Thanks!

i use a small snippet of masking tape and put that on the cello over the band.

I always put new cigars into my inventory, and lately have been usin the sharpie on the wrapper trick. It seems to be working well.

Sharpie on the wrapper kinda scary. Ever smoke one that sat with sharpie on it?

thats why i put tape between the cello and the sharpie...

I use blank address labels (the smaller return labels) on the cello.

I write on masking style tape with a ball point. If the cigar has no cello, I'll slip a small piece of paper under the band.

I don't do that for all of my cigars though. I should, but I don't...

I was keeping an excel spreadsheet but that got outdated fast. I also write on the cello on some but a lot that I've bought don't have cello.

I did buy the bands that HighPSI mentioned on Sunday. Hopefully they'll get here tomorrow.

What I do is mark the tail of the wrapper that folds over at the bottom of the cigar. That way the writing is not likely to come in contact with the cigar itself. I thought this was a good way to do it without placing anything extra on the cigar.

There you go!!

If it has cello, I write on it with a sharpie. If it doesn't, I do what Thor does and put a piece of paper in the band. If it is boxes that I am aging, I have a label maker I use for the date.

I always take my cello off.
So I use some cut up paper and write the date on it, and tape it over the cigar (homemade band, the tape comes nowhere near the cigar).

My favorite way to track them is to mooch some cigars from Barcochris, and then ask him about the dates before I smoke them.

I usually use a label maker and put them on the cellophane (the first cigar I received from Capt had the date on the cellophane - thought that was a great idea) - and if there is no cello I cut a piece of paper and write it on and wrap it around the cigar. If I am storing a box I use the label maker and put it right on the box.
