Hi, i am new to this whole smoking thing. I was just asking if you guys can post how each of you do the inhalation process or how ever you call it. I think im doing it wrong. Well thanks :)

You should never inhale a cigar. There are some Super Manly Men out there, who proudly boast of how they can inhale a straight out of the factory Cuban Romeo y Julieta Churchill, all the way down to the nub, chug a double shot of overproof rum, and not bat an eye.

If you are such a man, . . .

:eek:mg: :eek:mg: :eek:mg:  :flush:

If not, you puff gently. You do not press your lips too hard to the cigar when you do this. The pressure of the lips on the cigar will draw the smoke into your mouth. You do not need to "suck" in the smoke. Twirl your cigar with each puff, so you do not wind up flattening the cigar in one place, hurting the draw, and causing heavy tar buildup. Many smokers will take two or three short puffs, circulate the smoke in the mouth, around your palate, and then blow out, clearing the mouth of all smoke. Do not smoke too fast. That's it.

Welcome to the forums, and I hope I've helped. :wine:

so really i must just make some little pression with my libs. Let the smoke have fun in my mouth and palate and then realease :D ??

Thanks

That's exactly it, and you are right. With a rich tasting, flavorful cigar, you will indeed be having fun.

Cigar smoking is all about flavor, at least from my experience. It's really a hobby/lifestyle and not a habit per se.

Start slowly and work your way to to a pace that suits you. Also, keep a journal of what you smoke in terms of size, make, model, and rate them according to flavor. You'll start to see some patterns after awhile.

you start inhaling,,,your smoking career will be short lived,,,lol

go for the taste,,,,just like you said,,,and most of all,,,ENJOY!!

And with many, many times the nicotine you'll be constantly sick with a mighty expensive vice. Well, more expensive.

Welcome to the forum too!

i had a thread called "developing your palate" a while back... this also evolved into just what you are talking about (and pushing small amounts of smoke through your nose).... im not sure how far back it is though. some people explained how to do it very well. i think CC had the best way to put it but i cant find the thread and i cant remember how he said it.

Hey man, I can do that, even the not batting an eye part!
Of course, I can't bat an eye, because they are closed tightly as I attempt to vomit up my boots 20 minutes later. . .although I did make it 25 minutes once!

But seriously, Esqualo, the way that works best for me is to keep my lips fairly wet, and just put enough pressure on the cigar with them to get a good seal, and then S-L-O-W-L-Y puff in a draw. If you puff to fast, you'll overheat the stick and it'll go bitter on you real quick (and even burn your tongue if it's burnt down a ways).

that thread talks about how to release through the nose. So which is better by nose or mouth? which makes you taste more

I've tried going out through the nose on occaasion, but I'm still not there. My favorite part is the taste afterwards and the smell on my fingers. I know it may sound weird, but sometimes I can taste a stick the next day and most times I like it.
