Lost in translation
Right now I'm listen to Hair Nation on Sirius 23 (all hair metal bands) and I'm enjoying it. I can't turn the channel. I like all of the songs they are playing, even Yngwie J. Malmsteen;
Heaven Tonight. Do I need to seek help?

No help needed! I have Sirius in the house and that is the only channel I listen to !

Rock on brutha! 80's metal rules! I still get crap from my wife when I crank old Motley Crue.

Nope, no problem there. I do the same thing, though I do enjoy many other genres. You are old enough to have grown up listening to it though. I was only five when the eighties ended.

My friend George who is in his 40's got me back into the madness. We keep on trying to stump each other with obscure metal band trivia. He usually wins.

Ok I finally heard one that alomost made me change the channel: Kiss "Beth". I love Kiss, but Beth blows.

Too much of a lay up? that's what I was going for.

You don't need help......yet. I used to work with a guy repairing computers in a tech center. Greg would always be first in and therefor get to pick the music for the day. He had a playlist completly made of 80's hair metal. It wasn't too bad the first 8 months or so, but he NEVER updated it. You can only hear the same 100 songs so much before you crack and leave a magnet on his hard drive for the weekend.

Remind me to dig this thread up in six months and then I'll let you know if you need help

Might also be that I was in second grade at the end of the 80's

I have nothing to say on this but I ment to tell Motion to stop digging up that other thread.... you know the one.

I am with you ther Motion, a guy can only take sooo much 80's rock, and then he just wants to take a nail to every CD that was made. I mean seriously Motley Cru - they had NOTHING compared to Led Zepplin.

And Chris, we love that old thread, may it never die!

Try listening to the same 2 ranchero music CD's 9 hours at a time. :x

At first we sometimes played ranchero music countdown with the songs (guess how long until the accordion kicks in--since 99% of the songs do), but after we knew all the songs it lost its fun.

Last week though, one of the guys told me to play my music, so I put in a Rammstein CD, and left it to loop.

LOL, I thought I was the only one to listen to Hair Nation! That's the only non-talk/sports station I ever listen to. If I didn't have an open kitchen at work I'd bring my sirius with me to rock out during service 8)

Back in the mid 80's I would mostly listen to the darker, heavier, THRASHIER stuff...but every time my buddies and I would hang out with chicks (sorry  ) we'd listen to all the hair metal bands...I guess the tunes kinda stuck with me all these years.
I met Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon of Tesla back in July thanks to a friend from class, and listening to their favorite bands of that era with them, as well as some of their hits brought back so many memories which just put a huge grin on my face.

NEW METALLICA CD COMING OUT!!!

i hope this one doenst suck as bad as St Anger. I mean they have (arguably) the best guitarist in the last 25 years and not a single guitar solo on that entire album. Metallica is no longer on the cutting edge of metal. they should quit now before they actually pi$$ off their remaining fans.

People have been losing respect for them after every album since black. I stuck with them through load and reload. and maybe garage Inc. but ST anger let me down. i dont want them to have a tainted rep.

stop while still ahead. please.

13 bucks a month, plus the cost of the reciver which range from 50 buck and up. The one I have was about 100 bucks and has 45 minutes of replay built in. So I can go back 45 minuts worth of songs or talk. I really love it. If you drive in the car at all it is a must have. Plus you ge to hear Howard everyday and every NFL broadcast there is.

Never was a Howard fan but I found that I really like Maxim Radio.

I got a receiver for my Pioneer head unit so it plays right through that. It sounds much better than the FM transmitter models IMO but you have to have a compatible head unit so its kind of costly if you don't.

As to Metallica, I was a little disapointed by St. Anger as well, but you just can't play the same thing over and over. I do hope the next one is better though.

When Cliff died Metallica died. This is some corporate entity with the same name, but it ain't the same.

justice and black werent bad. load and reload could have been better but still worth buying. after that.... all down hill. the cliff years were great and cliff was a great bassist. i could talk for hours about what i think happened to metallica but ill pass.

btw... the pic on the back cover of load is a good one. anyone have any idea what those cigars were? or did they take the bands off em?
