Ice or no ice?

I'm just curious to see what people like. When I have whiskey with a cigar, I like it to be really cold so I put ice in it.
Does anyone else do that? Is it better if the whiskey is room temperature?
Just curious!

I usually poor my Knob Creek over ice. Although it definately has more flavor at room temp (60 to 80 deg). I have had it without ice at a solar heated 100+ and found it unpleasant. I have also drank Knob Creek at a winter weather chilled sub 32, also not as pleasant. Room temp or on ice both seem to work well for me. I sometimes like the slowly melting ice, it takes the edge off!

Ice is key to scotch. Some H2O is what releasesa lot of the aromas in a good single malt.

I prefer bourbon on the rocks, every once in awhile I like it straight but thats more of an exeption.

I like my single malt in a snifter with a splash of water, no ice thank you, Enjoy, Vince

I prefer whiskey to be at room temperature when I drink it with a cigar. I feel that the warmth of the drink complements the cigar perfectly, whereas adding ice gives you two extremes - hot then cold. No ice for me either thank you :)

I like it on the rocks!

At least now I do.....I like my drinks cold! But am sure some are better the other way....I love port and Wine so I'm not a stranger to drinking room temp drinks, but something like whiskey....I need the ice.

:D

neat, all the way
all that ice just gets in the way...

...i think i have a problem...
:wine:
hahahaha

I'm with Ando on this one...I prefer cognac at room temperature (if I can get it). Even with coffee I would rather it not be blazin' hot.

Ice?? Why hide the flavor??...... Neat !!!

As a general rule americans tend to eat there food to hot, and drink there drinks to cold!!

Cognac, brandy and armagnac at room temp, everything else nice and cold. But at the casino by my house I'll always go neat as I might as well get my money's worth.

I tend to have my bourbon or rum straight up, no ice. Unless I go outside and sit on the patio to smoke in the warm, humid weather. Then I crack some ice and use as large a chunk as I can fit in my glass.

I usually smoke my cigars with some scotch, neat with a splash of water, in a tumbler. Or cognac in a brandy glass.
