The bank that I work for was bought about three weeks ago. They have kept us in the dark, but have weekly rally the troop "We don't know anything" meetings. Those of us in the IT department are sure that we will have a job until the conversion is complete and will then be shown the door.
I'm kinda in limbo right now because I don't know what's going on, but I've made some contacts and called up my headhunters. Hopefully I'll get out unscathed. I can't afford to wait and see if the severance package is going to be good. I have a wife and 6 month old son to take care of. But I was looking for a new job anyway. It was just somewhere to work till I finished school. I'll graduate in December, but I need to go back for some programming classes ( I decided what I want to do for a living with 12 hours left in a History/Political Science program).
