I had some time today after work, so I went to my B&M. Jesus Fuego happened to be there. Jesus Fuego is a 5th generation tobacco blender from Cuba. He worked for Rocky Patel and was responsible for the Vintage 1990 and 1992 among others. He started his own cigar company in 2006. What a fascinating, terrific guy to talk to. He knows so much about cigars and is an excellent teacher. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and even though he knows so much, he doesn't talk over your head. I had a terrific afternoon speaking to him. He was generous enough to give me one of his Gran Reserve Corojo No. 1 and one of the Naturals. Both were fantastic smokes, though I really enjoyed the Corojo. Fantastic draw and burn on both cigars, but the spice and flavor on the Corojo was phenomenal. The Natural was milder and very creamy. Even though it was milder, it still had a ton of flavor. I'm currently smoking a cigar that he was generous enough to give me that will be released after RTDA. I don't know very much about the cigar. It's unbanded and a dark, corona sized cigar. I enjoy this one even more than the other two and I can't wait for this cigar to come out!
Here is a link to his cigars. He doesn't have a website to my knowledge. It says 3rd generation tobacco grand master, but his family's been in the tobacco business for longer than that. I hope his cigars really catch on. Those who've smoked his cigars really enjoy them and I see why.
