If you are thinking about buying specialty cigars there be weary as there is no licensed dealer on the island and everything is counterfit. If you want to try a great cigar, try a Mario Palomino. You can find them at most smoke shops there and they are made in Jamaica. You can really only buy them in Jamaica as they dont export the cigars.

for a minute there i thought we were going to be
discussing the ROYAL JAMAICA cigars.

and since i brought it up, i have to mention that one
was giftd to me not long ago and it was TRUELY ONE
OF THE WORST SMOKES I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!

92 rating in C/A and it tasted worse than a swisher
counterfit!!!

if the rest of the smokes on the great isle if jamaica
are as bad as this, DONT SMOKE ANY OF THEM!!!

i can still smell that dog rocket on my fingers. :x

Thanks for the advice, and I will have to check out the Mario Palomino

I was there last year with the wife and stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Montego bay. As far as I can tell, you could buy specialty cigars there, but at a steep price. there was a cigar shop about a mile away in a shopping center and I beleive their cigars were ok as well. Enjoy!

HIGHPSI:

i was at the cigar cafe in AZ the other day and i was
talking to a guy and noticed he was smoking a ROYAL
JAMAICA.

the bad one i got was a robusto sized stick. the one he
was smoking was much smaller, short, with about
a 40-42 ring.

i told him my run in with the smoke and he said he had
the same experiance with the same stick i had and he
had not planned on trying it again. the store owner had
him try the one he was smoking and he liked it alot.

many cigars DO taste different for sure in different sizes.

i will have to try one of the ones he had.

which ones do you smoke?

yup, i liked the one churchill i had, but the coronas i really like...i assume we're talking bout the "golds" but i have a couple of the "pre-golds" but havent tried them yet...anyway, they arent uber-premium sticks by any means, but they fit the bill sometimes

For the price I think RJ cigars suck. The Parklane series are decent but for the $6 you pay for it you can buy a lot of other far superior cigars. On a side note, they have the reddest wrapper I have ever seen.
