Is it possible to order spirits online? oregon doesn't carry all brands of bourbon and rye in it's state stores. I'd like to try some brands that are recommended here that I can't buy in state.

I have family in California and I had always been told they had better prices then Washington with it's state run stores and tax. I had a Wa price list and went to all the stores that were suppose to have good prices. I found even with the WA liquer tax it was either cheaper or comparable. I thought about Mission liquer as they were cheaper, but added with the $20 per bottle shipping fee it was way more expesive. The guy at the liquer store that I go to says he can get almost anything that I want. There is no extra charge. Ask your liquer store if they will do the same.

Absolutely RedLeg. One definitely has to consider all factors when looking around for booze, cigars or anything, especially where internet shopping is a consideration. When I see something for a certain price in one of my favorite local liquor stores, I'll get out my calculator, run the tax and get the "walk-out price." Then I'll check my four favorite web sites and see what's happening there, calculate shipping charges, etc., and match it against the liquor store's price.

One very important word about internet booze shopping. Unless your order totals to at LEAST three bottles, preferably more, you will lose out on shipping charges. You do NOT have to order three bottles of the same thing, just make sure the order totals to three bottles. After three bottles, the shipping charges smooth out very nicely, and get much better starting with the fourth.
