1) get one of those chiminea things that have a tall "smoke stack"
2) use a bit of round sheet metal duct work to extend the smoke stack to a point as high as you can reach (about 7 feet up)
3) duct tape a bundt pan to the top of the duct work (but not too tight youll need to get it off later. (the bundt pan should be facing the way it is when you fill it, not the way the cake would be served...)
4) light a fire and get it good and hot with glowing coals.
5) set a metal bowl that is a bit smaller around than the bundt pan over the bundt pan upside down using two or three sticks so it stays above it.
6) place a bag of ice on top of the metal bowl to chill it.
7) throw pre-soaked wood (of your choice) into the fire to create steam and smoke
re-ice as needed.
After about 45 minutes of this you should have a good amount of liquid smoke in the bottem of the bundt pan.
every want applewood/maple liquid smoke? now you can.
