Anyone here ever dabble in making your own beer with the MRBEER kit?? i found a setup at the local goodwill for 5 bucks, it came with enough mix(1 can) to make 20 12oz beers. I cant wait to try it out. Let me know if you have any experience with this stuff. thanks in advance

I tried it. Got it as a christmas gift one year. I've done two batches with mine. We moved since then and I haven't gotten it out for another batch though.

It's easy to use, and the syrup that comes with it makes a drinkable beer if you follow the directions. I'd say it's acceptable to start out your brewing career with it. They sell different flavors for it too.

I opened a bottle of my first batch a wee bit (ok, alot) early and it was too sweet. After waiting another month, it was much better.

Try it and let us know how it turns out.

kinda like Chef Boyardee Beer. Not quite like homebrewed, but good when you are thirsty. Look up you local homebrew club and visit a meeting you will be shocked at what they can do with very little overhhead.

It's true. I know many people who have done it with great success. There was a guy from Buffalo that I knew from another board who was a regular homebrewer. Went by the handle of Beerlord. Sent me three or four bottles along with cigars in a trade for cigars I sent him. Great stuff. I know there was a homebrewed barleywine in there and something else. Beerlord was very experienced and so had honed his craft to a fine art, but all you have to do if you want to be the next Beerlord is get started and don't stop.
