Kelvin's House
well as some of you know I have been working on 70 chevelle SS convertable for a while now. When i bought the car of E-bay it was a "califonia" car. The owner told me that it had a small hole in the floor but that was it. Well the "small" hole ment that the entire floor need to be replaced. I also discovered that the car was in a bad accident and the frame was Bent, theis ment that the back wheels were no longer parallel to the front. So I re framed the car. I went on the find a couple other problems so I went all the way. here are some of my pictures. first set is the way the car looked when i first took it to the painter.

When droping the tank i found a "new"trunk had been installed poorly. They just took a pan and bondoed it in to cover up the Rot.

The next set shows the bad trunk and the new, and the start of body work.

the car still needs to be wet sanded and buffed but that will be done after I put it back together.

The Motor will Be a +.030 427 with a big cam. Turbo 400 with a 2800 stall speed converter.

I am not sure if anybody is interested but I thought I would share my excitement.

I wish I would of taken some pictures when i had the car hanging from two engine hoists in my driveway to replace the frame.

I will try to keep this updated as the car goes back together.

Holy Crap!!! That is looking good.

I did a similar project with my first car, a 1967 VW Beetle. I got it when I was 15 and wasn't driving it till I was 17. Went the whole way on the restoration and put way too much money in it, but I enjoyed doing it so I guess it evens out. I'm looking to get another car to restore. I'm thinking a '67 Chevy Impala 4 door or a '67 Lincoln Continental. I love working on older cars.

Where are you installing the built-in humi?

Sam

WOW CHRIS! Gotta get some pics with you burnin some rubber man! Beautiful color on a classic piece of Americana! Good for you brother!

Thanks guys. I have had a lot of trouble and a lot of blood with this car. But I love it. It is really my dream car since I can remeber. TWhe pictures do not do the color justice. it looks more Orange in the picture but it is all red, it is really the only tint in the mix

Wow, simply wow. I can't wait to see the finished product. The Chevelle is my all time favorite muscle car. Simply beautiful.

Also, can I get to ride it before Kelvin?

Nice ride brother. That should get you to Phoenix in about an hour

it would take me four hours after figuring all the times I would have to stop for gas.

And no Kelvin, you can't drive.

Chris that's freakin awesome! Can't wait to see the pix of you doing a nice burnout when she's all finished. Keep posting pix of the progress.

well I got the motor back yesterday FINALY! this has been a four month project going on. The machine shop had been very busy and three weeks ago put the mill back together to find out the Pistons they sent us were not the ones we ordered. The were the right bore but for a longer rod. the weight had been made on the pistons so I could not return them for the right ones, it was past thirty days so i could not even play that angle. So that left me with new rods. Not that it is a bad thing cause I went with a Scat Forged rod. but it put me over 3 grand into the motor. I hope this thing runs like the wind.

Motor set up for those that care.

427 Hipo Block Bored .030
Keith Black forged pistons
forged crank
Scat forged rods
Comp cams Extreme energy 284 cam
Edelbrock performer intake
Mild head work

Should be around 480-500 HP

Maybe, but I have not found a Dyno were I live so it may involve a bit of work.
